What Does the Devil Want? August 27th, From the Scriptures we know that the devil has a plan. He is up to something. He is very active. He is very persistent. He is very thoughtful and he invests in the future as well as the present. He has a team and they work together against the Lord and those who love Jesus.

He is portrayed as vulnerable en route for the deceits of Satan. Why would Jesus go into the desert for a forty calendar day retreat after his baptism? It is the same reason why people go on retreat: en route for refocus on who they are, where they are going after that how to get there. He fasted for forty days after that forty nights and afterwards was hungry. For it is written: He will command his angels concerning you and with their hands they will support you lest you dash your base against a stone. It is written: The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve. Consideration from the Preface of the Mass: His fast of forty days makes this a blessed season of self-denial. Suggestions designed for Reflection Jesus was tempted at the same time as we are. Temptations are not bad in themselves but it is what we do along with them that can help us turn to God or absent from God.

After that like a lion, if Satan can use the weakness, the pain, and the hurt of a situation to hold us down, he will. A combine years back I was struggling and losing a battle along with shame. The less than astral things I had said after that done easily floated to the surface of memory. Instead of recognizing this as a approach of Satan, I sunk addicted to humiliation, and the narrative so as to played in my head was this: Stupid! How could you do that? For I appreciate One who suffered and made satisfaction on my behalf. Indication happy ending music, right? Not so much. Satan is an excellent strategist.
